St. Nick still found us in Colorado.

And so did the flu.
Asher puked right before Christmas eve dinner. I was already feeling a bit weird myself so it kinda ruined the night for me. Having Asher in the hospital in April because of the stomach flu really put me on edge, I was worried he would get really sick again. Plus him wanting to walk around constantly and play made it hard to control where he ended up throwing up (which was everywhere). He was better by Christmas day (THANK GOODNESS!) but I felt like poo all day long. (which I think took the edge off being homesick).

Here's Santa putting together the tramp. It's a fold up type so he couldn't get the legs on without it snapping in half so he had to sit on it to control it. He asked for my help and I said, "Not till I get a picture." (the kids love the tramp by the way)

Stockings full with candy and little toys (which the kids loved just as much!)

Jocelyn left a note with the cookies and milk and this is what it said for when she woke up.

Making the kids wait to go look at their stuff.Photobucket
Jocelyn yelled, "I got what I wanted!!!" That's music to a parents ears.

Another animal for Cecily to love.

Asher got a spiderman scooter. He likes it but a little to small to figure it out. His sisters like it a whole lot too.

After video-chatting with family for awhile, and hearing some really awesome news from a sister in law we went sledding. Well, Chris and Jocelyn did. I had Xena and Cecily playing on the playground. The wind was blowing so hard and with it already 20ish degrees it was FREEZING! We learned with the wind chill factor it's best to stay inside on windy days.
This Christmas was saved by Chris. I was pretty much worthless and couldn't do much. We had agreed a few days before to use the fancy dishes and dress up. He made dinner all by himself and still got dressed up.
Photobucket

We ended the night by eating chocolate peppermint pie and watching A Christmas Story.

I designed this "remember the date" book in hopes to print, bind and decorate it in time to give it as a Christmas gifts to sister in laws and girlfriends but I ran out of time and funds. Download it here if you would like to print it yourself. If you're not sure what a date book is for it's to keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, and any other important dates you want to remember. Enjoy!

Back to my post, At dinner I asked Jocelyn what her favorite part of the day was. She said opening presents. Cecily said... I think she mumbled something cranky. Chris and I can't remember. Jocelyn asked me what my favorite part was and I told them eating the awesome roasted potatoes Chris made, they were perfect for a sad belly.

What was your favorite part of Christmas?

Hey there this is Chris. Joc has been wanting, ok to be honest, I have been wanting to go sledding since we got up here. So we packed up the sled and headed to Fossil Creek park. We joined about 50 other people and had us some fun.

A Bambino Update

I thought I was going to have to wait till February to find out what kind of baby I am having but I got a different doc this time around and he said 20 weeks so we find out January 12, at 11:30am if it's a boy or a girl. Get this! At the doc office the ultra sound lady can't tell me the sex of the baby. She will write down the results and then give them to the doc. So I have to wait til my appointment an hour later to find out what my baby is. Very lame, but at least it's only an hour.
(And apparantly this is the only doctor's office that does it like this.)
17 Weeks!
Photobucket
At my last appointment the heart rate was 145 and everything is looking normal.

Here are the names we are thinking, since this is the only time you'll get to see both sides of the baby name list cause once we know the sex of the baby we'll be narrowing these down quite a bit. Here they are...

Boy
McCoy
Max
Rush
Ransom
(Rush and Ransom are Rogers' family names so we didn't just pull them out of a hat)
August
Lincoln
Callahan
(he'd be called Cal)
Finn
Bristol
Emerson
Elliot
Reese
boy middle name would be Ben

Girl
Laura
(as promised by Chris I can use this if it's a girl if I decide she' s a Laura)

Isabel
(we wouldn't really name her this cause it's too trendy but Cecily mentions it every time we ask her. We leave it on the list cause she likes it a whole lot for some reason.)
Charlotte
Fiona
Ellanor
Bristol
(still can't figure out if it's a girl or boy name)
girl middle name would be Joy

So here's your chance to take a guess at what we're having.
Boy or Girl?
And while we're at it go ahead and tell us your feelings on our name list.

I've been crafty... aagin!

Believe me this is so rare but I attended my wards Super Saturday and got to make these super fancy ornaments. I had a blast getting to know the ladies in my ward. I showed my mom and sisters how to make these on Thanksgiving and I don't know if they liked it or not cause it's a lot of prep work but they turned out so gorgeous! Here's a link that will show you how to make them if you are looking for something to give the ladies you visit teach or your kids school teachers. Or you can me and I can walk you through it.

Photobucket

I've also had a couple other crafts up my sleeves but I can't post them till after Christmas. Hopefully next year I get a better head start on the homemade Christmas but I've been pretty impressed with myself and thinking of these things on my own.

A late birthday post

This time of the year is always the hardest for me. With school and editing all the recent school productions and weddings, and now trying to get ready for the holiday I'm feeling like a work horse (and let's be honest looking like one too). So needless to say the blog has been neglected, and let me tell you, I have missed out on blogging some awesome stories. And the most important is that my November baby, Jocelyn, turned 6!

Here to tell us about her birthday is Jocelyn.

"I woke up and I got dressed. Daddy made pancakes and put wet cream (whipped cream) on it. We tried to go look at the bald eagles, but there was a big group and Asher was running away so we decided not to do that. We went to the fossil creek park and played. We went to see Santa come on his sleigh and I went ice skating with Daddy for the first time. I thought it was fun. For dinner we went to chick-fil-a and played and ate. We went home and ate cupcakes and opened up presents! MMMmmmmm... I don't know, that's all I want to say. Now I'm done, can you put color around it?"

{Ash ate her #6 candle}

Yep, that basically sums it up. Except I want to add that when we went to the park they went sledding on the pretty much melted snow. The video of Asher is his first time on a sled and you can think me a bad parent all you want but you know you would laugh too. And in Jocelyn's video it is her first time going all by herself.

Just getting ready for funny night

I love Thursday, it's always been my favorite day of the week as well as my favorite TV night. Seinfeld, Friends now Office and my new most favorite show of all time 30 ROCK.

I've been editing Mesa High's Class of '59 50th reunion and I came across this little gem. It's the current senior class president introducing himself to everyone and he sounds JUST LIKE KENNETH. Now, I kept going back and forth on whether it's ethical to post this video without his permission and decided that it's totally worth it for the 30 rock fans to see (plus I own the rights to the footage). For those who don't really know the show here's a clip of Kenneth...

Now the Mesa High kid...

Ha ha ha!
Ok, so tell me what your favorite day of the week is?
And has 30 Rock's awesomeness surpassed The Office?
(the answer is yes)
