Since we haven't really the chance to make friends yet this was our first weekend in a LONG time where we spent every moment together as a family. Usually we have a wedding, or photo shoot or a date or party or something but being alone in our own state we spent the weekend together and it was fabulous!
Friday Chris came home from work with two movies Monsters vs. Aliens and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (not so great and actually pretty disappointing) and we went and bought some ice cream and made our own milk shakes.
Saturday I did some garage and thrift store shopping because I am gathering as much snow clothes and boots as possible for winter visitors. AND it's supposed to snow tomorrow (Thursday) and I'm freaked out of my mind. (I have NEVER EVER EVER driven in the snow! It's supposed to snow all weekend too and Chris will be in AZ and I'll be here with my 3 kiddos.) Then after an amazing nap and an attempt to watch Conference we went and found the coolest pumpkin patch ever! We got to walk through the field and pick from different colored and shaped pumpkins and squash. Then Chris took the girls through a corn maze.

{Ash went CRAZY for the little petting zoo and taught all the little baby friends to climb up the fence.}

{Message from Jocelyn "My Nana has these!}

{The craziest looking chicken I have ever seen!}

Sunday was spent still trying to figure out how to watch conference (streaming it wasn't working and we couldn't get it on the TV), naps and actually watching conference. I think we missed some awesome stuff from what everyone is chatting about but we actually do a good job of reading the talks.
So that was our first weekend in a nutshell. Hopefully I survive the weekend and my first time at our new ward all by my mommy self.

bahaha asher is such a crazy! gash! i miss those kiddos so much already! i can't believe you guys have done so much in just being there a short time!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I know we haven't see each other in years BUT I do live within an hour of you and would love to get together sometime. (I know that it can be a little lonely when you first move out of state) I have three crazy kiddos (all boys)so maybe we can load up our whole crew go to the outlet mall in Loveland and buy some winter clothes or something?

So first - driving in the snow is not as scary as it seems. The secret is not over correcting and not using breaks around corners. Just sayin...I learned in Canada so I feel confident that I am safe to give you advice ha ha and second how much fun is the pumpkin patch?! How fun! I know creepy I stalk you but hey I make myself known, right? Best of luck with getting settled :)
ReplyDeleteThat is good to know about not breaking when I turn, hopefully I don't do it out of habit! Thanks for the tip Stephdeezy and I don't mind you stalking just curious how you found me though. =)
ReplyDeleteMeredith I am totally going to call you. Maybe we can do a temple session or something. I love hearing all your crazy boy stuff. My girls never say that crazy of stuff like your boys do.=)
That's funny that those are the two movies Chris brought home cause we just rented those exact same 2 movies tonight from Redbox! Felt the same way about the movie as you. I guess great minds think alike!
