Toy Story 3

Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen Toy Story 3 (TS3). Chris works with this awesome lady Claire who has two girls a few years older than ours and they went and saw TS3. They loved it SO MUCH that they decided as a family they wanted to give away all their toys to other little girls to see how happy it would make them instead of donating them like Andy did. They asked a few people and got turned down until Claire talked to Chris and he said Heck yeah we'll take your used stuff!!! So Chris told me and I thought it was so so so so sweet. He said it was just a few toys like a kitchen set and some dolls. We get to their house and learn that it's seriously close to 15 boxes plus some furniture. I was totally stoked because they had some awesome toy organization stuff and these drool worthy pottery barn chairs that say their kids names. But they are so awesome I don't mind calling my kids Audrey and Bee. I was so nervous my kids would go in there and just be total brats and not say thank you or give them the reaction these very kind people were wanting like in the movie. Well, they totally performed! Jocelyn took it so serious looking through each box and playing with everything. Cecily would look through the boxes and love EVERYTHING but would pick a special couple toys to sit with her on her car seat. One of the girls said she saw Cecily open a box, find a toy she loved and squeeled in happiness. She told Chris that she would remember the look on Cecily's face forever.

There was so much stuff it took 2 trips to bring it all to our house. We have a freakin' mini van people! And when Chris went back the second time he only brought Asher so he could lay the back seat down.

We decided to let the kids empty the boxes and go crazy Saturday night and Sunday but first thing Monday I was going downstairs and sorting it all out. Here's what it looked like Sunday morning...
This is only part of the room. It was seriously too much for even my camera to focus on! I spent all day today sorting through what we wanted to keep and what would just be destroyed and put things away. But with so many new toys I needed a plan so I emptied one closet to keep them in so they have to ask me to get it down for them if they wanted it. Then what was in that closet needed to be moved to another closet and then I needed to go through that closet and give away stuff to make room... In the end I organized an entire play room, storage room, and 3 closets while Cecily and Asher emptied nearly every box I just organized. I'M MENTALLY EXHAUSTED!!!

So moms out there I hope I didn't make you vomit from the sheer craziness of this. I hope when my girls are ready to give up their play toys that we can do the same thing cause it was seriously so fun to see them have so much fun with toys that were loved by two little sisters just like them.
