Work for Chris has been... sucky. Doing the same thing he did for 5 years, not to mention the same thing he did when he got laid off. It would be different if it was something that he enjoyed but he's been making it work for 3 years. We took the job with South University because it would pay more after 3 months, pay for our masters... but was it worth it? Since we already took a 50% pay cut why not take the job that would bring some change for Chris?
It's been a good life lesson for us. Mostly for me and learning to discern the spirit better. When we had to choose between lifelock and south university I knew he was supposed to take the lifelock job. But I wasn't sure if it was just that they were the first job offer, or if it was the spirit telling me it was the right job. Chris wanted to provide for the family the best way he could and that was better pay and paid tuition. Lifelock was W - Sat 5:30am - 4pm. BEAUTIFUL hours. If I had insisted a bit more and told Chris more of what I was thinking instead of leaving it up to him and his happiness he would have taken the job at Lifelock.
Last week I told Chris it wasn't worth it anymore and to call Lifelock and see if the job offer still stands. It did and he took it! Chris will start training with them May 21st and I can't wait! The hours aren't as awesome, 10:30 am - 9 pm W - Sat but it's only 4 days, something new, and a great company to work for. The commute will be a little longer but he won't ever be in traffic and he'll get to listen to more audio books.
I'm going to be a better blogger, I PROMISE... wait, didn't I already say that?! Oh well, it's true. Tomorrow... EASTER!
